I don't know where you get the idea that it stutters or is horribly pixellated, because many videos do not always play at the tablet's native resolution. Keep in mind that the majority of Android tablets run at a resolution of 800x600, whereas the Galaxy Tab I think runs at 1024x600. The iPad plays pixelatted videos, especially 240p and 360p because it needs to blow these up to the native higher resolution on Youtube full screen.

Having said that, the eLocity A7 does play fluid flash videos thanks to the Dual Core Tegra 2 Nvidia chip. However, this will change this year with the introduction of Android Honeycomb (3.0) and Android Gingerbread (2.3). Android Honeycomb is really really nice (this is a tablet operating system) and more makers will put a dual core chip on their tablets to run Honeycomb. This year, tablets will be on par with netbook performance equipped with a ION or an AMD C-30/50 netbook with a Radeon GPU built-in. I am sure Apple will introduce a more capable iPad as well.

Android has come a long way, because many of the features that were available on the Android already like multitasking and personal hotspot are slowly filtering to the iOS operating system without having to jail break.

Still, I understand the reasons Apple decides not to allow flash on their devices. But you know, flash is not only for videos or games. Many commercial websites use flash for email programs, CAD, product presentation, online e-learning and secure online stock ordering are among the basic use that you can not do with an iPad and not for the forseable future. I had spoken with these companies, but they are not changing their ways of doing business because Apple said so. They also realize other tablets can run flash and access their sites well. They rely on the consumer to make a choice rather than someone god like making for them.

Quite a lot for tablets from companies like Samsung, Archos, Viewsonic, Coby, StreamTV networks (eLocity), Dell plus a few others (like epad, Apad, Mito etc) from China. There will be a lot more coming out this year for sure -- CES 2011 demonstrated this.

There are only a few Android tablets that can go head to head against the iPad, because up until now, they are all running a "PHONE" OS. The pixelation issue is due to the fact that when you are running a "PHONE" specific app on an Android tablet, you'll get pixelation unless the app is specifically written for a tablet. On Apple, we get the same thing trying to run an iPhone specific game even in 2X mode, there's pixelation! There's Angry Birds for iPhone and there's Angry Birds for iPad for a reason! This will be solved in the new Honeycomb which is a tablet specific Android OS.

The only selling point Android, Windows 7 and RIM Playbook tablet makers have against Apple now is, guess what, FLASH plus a few other VPN specific enterprise issues. Other than that, Apple products are well designed and thought out.

Check Craigs List for people who are selling their iPads. One of the main reasons; switching to an Android tablet that can do flash much the same as a skier who cross country ski. Do you think he's going to use downhill skis for that? Perhaps, but it will not be a pleasant experience for sure.

I thought this claim was at least interesting enough to bear looking into and so I did exactly as requested; read through all of the "iPad for Sale" ads in Craigslist Seattle for the period 6-8 Feb.

While you might assume, might like to think, that that simply has to be one of the main reasons for people selling, it's simply not borne out by the actual reading. More people are selling because the one they received is too small and/or lacks 3G and they want to upgrade than because of a lack of Flash. Many, not surprisingly, simply need the money. Many got them as gifts or promotions and don't really think they'll use them much. Many others are NIB/unopened. Many don't bother listing any reasons at all, but none are selling at discounts.

Not one of the ads expressed any dissatisfaction with their iPads aside from the ones mentioned above, and those people simply want other, better ones. Not one ad mentioned any intention of moving on to other tablet platforms of any kind aside from, once again, those few seeking better iPads. Flash, in fact, was simply never mentioned at all, by anyone, for any reason.

FWIW, I don't take that absence as proof that none of the sellers had Flash as any part of their decision to sell. I'm sure some have, and I along with others have encouraged people to do that very thing if that will make them happy and put a stop to the whingeing. To claim that as a main reason for all such sales is, however, absurd.

You sounded pretty defensive here. Why is that?
Plus, I said flash is one of the main reasons people sell their iPads. Why do you care? iPad, like any other computer is a tool people use to achieve the task they need to accomplish not god statue for someone to adore and admire.

When I bought my iPad used last year from Craigslist, no one listed it can not play flash. The sellers I contacted knew full well of this issue only after I asked them if I can browse a website which some of them immediately recognnize it as being flash based. What transpired next was an interesting education by them in the Android platform and knowing the eLocity A7. I did not even know it even existed late last year.

Still, an Apple iPad has a superior interface and apps wise to me that it does what I want and to me, that is important. For flash, I just use the Android tablet. For me, that is the best achieved portability. I know others believe having just the Galaxy Tab is best. Again, a tool is very personal.

No, just find it hard to believe this guy thinks its so unbelievable that people watch tv shows on their phone while at work, especially when he knows I work in an office. It just makes me wonder what type of life or jobs hes held to find such a statement rediculous.

To me that suggests a low-skilled data entry job.

I don't know of any software developers who would describe their job as "punching numbers" unless they literally were just "punching numbers" into a computer.

Hate to break it to you but the majority of people actually do work at work, not watch tv. You obviously need more work to do if you waste your employer's money watching tv.

If it were a data entry job, he would've been fired by now for watching tv instead of paying attention to what he was doing.

Or maybe you would expect someone looking to buy a used item would at least know the specifications of the thing they're buying or could look them up easily.

I have an archos a70it-flash playback is marginal at best.
I have used flash on a galaxy tab-stuttered, was pixellated or got warning message about no mobile version available. When it did playback-it was ok.

I tried the elocity a7-flash was perfect, I could watch amazon on demand video without a hitch. Unfortunately the battery life was atrocious(not flash related).
