iTunes opening on its own!!

For some reason iTunes has started to open of its own accord. I have the iTunes logo in my Dock then out of the blue it opens without any prompting from me.

Does anyone know why this has just started happening and how to stop it?

Thanks

I too have a similar problem. All of a sudden the first tune on my music list just starts playing. This happened in the middle of the night and again about 10 minutes ago.

I have not added anything recently and cannot figure why this is happening. ITunes opens when I place my ITouch in the dock, but it doesn't necessarily start playing a tune. Last night the ITouch was not in the dock.

I've been having trouble with this myself. I have no problem getting iTunes to open when I connect my iPod and it syncs without a problem, but when I finish and try to close iTunes, it closes then immediately opens again. At first, I thought this was a problem with my iPod, but today I'd opened iTunes on it's own so that I could fix some tags and it happened again. Once I finished, I shut down iTunes and it immediately opened again. After going through this four times, I finally had to use the task manager to kill not only iTunes but the iTunes helper.
