Currently Being ModeratedJan 20, 2011 1:10 PM (in response to TeenTitan)The drive mounts on other computers. It has mounted on my machine, but I lose it after a while and it doesn't mount anymore. I've gone twice to a genius bar and both times it mounts flawlessly.macbook pro, Mac OS X (10.5.8)

WAIT WAIT EVERYONE....READ THIS....VERY SIMPLE FIX!
My G mini 750GB drive stopped mounting.....I tried a million methods to get the G mini drive to mount and searched a ton of forums but never found this VERY EASY FIX. Try powering down your computer (imac in my case), then UNPLUG the power supply from the back of the computer....VERY IMPORTANT TO UNPLUG COMPUTER FROM ELECTRIC SOURCE. Nothing else worked for me.
Wait a minute, then plug back in and re-boot....MAGIC - freakin G mini showed up on desk top!
Good Lord why is this simple fix not all over the G mini site?????? It ought to be on the front of the box when you buy this thing! Seems no one at G mini sites talk about this and people are sending drives all over for repair!
Hope this helps!

Thanks for the report, that's how to reset the Firewire bus after something has pulled too much power from it!

oh wow....so maybe the g mini is pulling too much juice and i am not out of the woods yet....thanks for the scoop!
will monitor and update if i learn more....maybe just a fluke and smooth seas ahead. I always have everything backed up to time capsule, so my data is not in too grave of danger. Hard to find this fix and lots of gnashing of teeth over these drives suddently disappearing from the desktop! good karma, these apple communities. Thanks a bunch!

Most of the time it means a failing A/C PSU for the drive, LaCie drives have a big problem with that.

Thanks for scoop. Will monitor...and keep data backed up!
