Apple Discussions login issue

Mine works with the email ID, whole address is not necessary.

Apple IDs are in email address format, name@domainname.domain, but you can have a totally different email address associated with the Apple ID. What the Jive software seems to do is take the part left of the @ and make it your "alias". Then it seems to accept either the whole Apple ID or just the alias as the log-in.

However, it looks like making changes in the Apple ID details may sometimes "break" Jive's use of just the alias, requiring the complete Apple ID to be used.

Hi Dave!

While you are logged-in to Discussions, on this page Your Apple ID click on Manage your Account.

On the page that opens, whatever is displayed in the Text Field above "Forgot your Apple ID?" is your account Namewhich is used to Sign In.

My Apple Account ID/User Name was established in 2001 when I joined  Discussions.
Since that time it has been my Email address and used to Log In.

Before the change, what Alias was displayed on the left of all your posts, where your Alias now appears as Dave Dahle?
