How to get rid of squares/rectangles on Aperture 3?

I was wondering if there was a way to permanently remove these shapes when browsing my photos.
There is one red square rectangle, usually in the middle, and then there are many white rectangles/squares around it. How do I get rid of these? thanks.

iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.6), using Aperture 3

Welcome to the list. Make sure you read the [Help & Terms of Use|http://discussions.apple.com/help.jspa] section when you get a chance.

Those are showing the focus points from your camera. The hi-lighted ones are the ones that were active when you took the pic.

Go to the metadata tab of the library inspector. In the upper right conner you'll see a few icons one of which looks like the what you're seeing on the screen. Mouse over it and click it.
