iPod Classic Does Not Work

I have the iPod Classic, the big fat iPod, and it no longer turns on. I've tried connecting it to iTunes, which does not work, and charging it. However, neither of those methods worked. When I turn it on, I see the Apple logo and then the iPod shuts off. Does anyone know what I should do?

If the battery is fully drained, you need to leave it connected to power for at least thirty minutes before you see any signs of life. You need to leave it longer than that until it has anough charge for you to use it.

If the Apple logo also shows any message, what does it say?

I have this same problem.

Just out of the blue, my iPod no longer works.

It turns on, I see the Apple logo, then it shuts of suddenly.
It does this for a few minutes until it seemingly just gives up..

At one point it shows enough battery life to operate, and then at times it shows near empty battery life...

I don't know what to do.
