Neither of the current MacBook Air models have a security port so it is not possible to secure the laptop with a Kensington lock or equivalent. Does anyone know if it's possible to secure the device by one of the other ports?

Not that I've heard of.

There are ways for securing your Mac though, just not physically ...some good ones include setting an Open Firmware Password by booting to your USB drive and choosing that option from the overhead menu. See this article...

There's a great (and free!) program that allows you to customize your login screen as well. This is helpful because it allows you to display important contact information in case your MBA decides to go missing...

There are software tools that can help you recover your computer if stolen. One is:

If you lose the computer it has GPS tracking and you can take picture of the thief without him knowing. Turn that information into the police and you may recover your machine quickly.
