someone stole my ipod touch and changed the pass then locked it

ok some one stole my ipod touch 1st gen and locked it completely i cant even do a restore with itunes. but the ipod says connect to itunes i tried and it said to unlock it first then connect to itunes but how a i supossed to do that when i cant even get the chance to unlock the thing. is there any other way of resetting the password?
