CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP.... IPHONE 4 HOME BUTTON

Hi

Have had two iPhone 4 replacements in as many days...

The issue is to do with the home button. When it is touched lightly there is a clicking sound and some movement in it. I don't think this is right.

I have two iPads and the iPod touches and not one of them has the same problem.

What I am trying to ascertain is, is this a common problem/fault. I am going back to the apple store but would like to go in there with some degree of credence to what it is I am saying.

After all I am stuck with the thing for two years and would like it to be right from the off.

From what I have read the topic of quality control seems to be a reoccurring theme and I am beginning to agree.

Could anyone who reads ts please help and leave some kind of feedback please

The Home button does move and it does click. It is a real button...?

The "recurring theme of quality control" is probably because you are looking at the support forums for people who are having problems. There are very few posts from the millions of users who do not have problems.

When i say it moves I mean it moves from side to side and does not seem as tight as the other devices.

Just trying to see if this is a common thing

TBH, it doesn't matter what us users say... Apple will determine the need for replacement on a case by case basis... getting 5-10 comments here relative to the millions and millions of iP4 users is not statistically valid.

Ask to try several different phones before you leave the store and see if they are different.

FWIW, it's firm on my 2.5 year old 3G.

Yes. There is some play in a normal iPhone home button.

I have no play like you describe in the Home button on my iPhone 4. Of the other iPhone 4's I've used they have had no play either.
I don't assume you to be over sensitive and decided to answer your question without passing comment on it....I wonder if I will start a trend?

My previous iphone 4 before replacing had this problem and was told that it is not a problem. As long as the button is working properly.

So I would not worry about it.

Well..... success!

Had another visit to the Apple store today. third time in three days so am expecting an invite to any staff shindigs, ha ha.

Met with the manager there and explained all the going ons. He looked at the phone and agreed instantly that that was not acceptable.

So over we went to the genuis bar. After three handsets we found one without the fault (much head shaking from the said manager).

Maybe i was being over sensitive but this is not a £20 LG from Asda, its a £500 phone with a 24 month contract hence the concern.

My home button is a little loose and gives a double click every time it's pressed. It's really frustrating because I expect more from the iPhone. I guess I will be visiting the Apple Store!

Mine does THE SAME EXACT THING. It is VERY annoying. I will probably take mine to the apple store too.
