Q: Apple 30" Cinema HD Display, ghosting and cannot change colour profile

Hello.

I'm having a few issues with my Apple 30" Cinema HD Display.

Firstly: When I leave (for example) a webpage on the screen for 5 minutes, when i minimize the screen it leaves a ghost image of the webpage.

Secondly: I recently colour profiled the monitor. However, when i try to change the colour profile (in system prefs/display) from the current to the new profile, there is no noticeable change in contrast, brightness or colour on the monitor...to this extent, no matter which colour profile i select in system prefs/display the monitor remains the same.

There are also a few dead pixels at the bottom of the screen which are showing a constant red colour.

I have tried reinstalling the user account and trying to change the colour profiles in a different user account, but no luck.

The monitor is connected to:
Mac Pro 1,1 2times 2.66ghz Dual Core Intel Xeon running Mac OSX 10.5.8 with all updates installed. It is connected with the usual VGA connection.

Many thanks in advance for any assistance.
