Jan 19, 2011 7:34 AM in response to McChemby varjak paw,Unless something has changed that I haven't heard about, sorry, but you can't. Apple's official word on the subject is that iTunes U is open to two- and four-year accredited, degree-granting, public or private colleges and universities, not to K-12 schools.

Jan 20, 2011 10:02 PM in response to varjak pawby PLCPCummins,Dave: I think you'll find that iTunes U has quick links to K-12 schools on the top right inside iTunes itself, so Apple is approving K-12 schools for inclusion to iTunes U.
McChem: What reason did Apple give for not approving? -
Jan 21, 2011 7:06 AM in response to PLCPCumminsby varjak paw,Actually no, though I can't be certain, that does not appear to be the case. The K-12 sites all appear to be overall organizations - state departments of education, entire school districts, etc. I don't see any individual schools listed. So it would appear that Apple will accept K-12 umbrella organizations only who have applied under what used to be termed "affiliate" status. McChem may need to work with his/her school district and have them apply rather than applying as an individual school.

Mar 3, 2013 5:35 PM in response to McChemby hopkinsenglish,I'm having the same problem. It's just disappointing that there isn't a clear way to contact Apple.
I work at a private K-12 (9-12 to be more precise) just outside of one of the major school districts in my area. I'm seriously considering asking the Curriculum Director in the major school district if I can put them down. It's a little odd to ask that, but the worst that could happen would be another no.
