find my phone - red, green, grey

find my phone - red, green, grey

Does anyone know the significance of the red dot or grey dot when one does a "find my phone"? I know green is good, but i suspect that one of the other colors is "offline" or "dead battery" or "can't get a good enough signal". Just wondered if anyone has figured this out.

According to the Find My iPhone Help, a green dot to the left of your device name means it’s online; a red dot means it’s offline; and a grey dot means Find My iPhone is trying to connect to the device.
