Spell check not working correctly in Gmail

In the past when I was composing a message in Gmail, if I misspelled a word and control + clicked it, the correct spelling would show up and then I could click on that word to replace the misspelled word. Now when this happens, I control click and I have to click 'Show Spelling and Grammar' which brings up a Spell Checker just like in Microsoft Word and it checks the whole message.
