Fed ex says iPhone was delivered but I didn't get a package. stolen maybe?

My iPhone's camera topped working properly so i called Apple on the 7th and they sent me an empty box. On Wednesday I called fed-ex to come and pick it up but they came on friday (1/14/11) Yesterday, I called Apple and they told me that my iPhone should be coming in today (1/19/11). When i came home from school i was excited that my iPhone came because i didn't have a phone. On the fed ex tracker it said it was delivered and signed by me. I thought that my mom might have signed it but no she didn't since I was at school all day. At the hotel that i live at i asked at the front office and they said only one package came with fed-ex and that was my mom phone from att. Also the hotel is empty, except for my family and I live there. I guess it was some how stolen. I called AppleCare and they told me that I should hear form them within 7 days and that there wasn't anything else I could do. Has this ever happened to anyone?

I just closed my FedEx drop off store, due to the economy. I agree with the posts here. There are direct and indirect signatures with FedEx and since they are signed on the FedEx mobile devices the signature is visible online.

Unless they can show your signature at your location, you should be good. However with an indirect signature they could have a neighbor sign for it. You need to see exactly who signed and when.

Oh, and you would have a case against the "Shipper" the "Shipper" would have a case against FedEx.

On the Fed-ex website it says that I signed for on Jan 19, 2011 1:35 PM. But this couldn't have been true because I was at school all day. I called Fed-ex and the lady I spoke to asked for my fax number and hung up as soon as i was done telling her the number. I still have yet to receive anything and I called them about an hour ago. I guess I will just let Apple deal with this.

It says "you" by name? Can you download the signature? Did you call 1800-Go-FedEx? I have never been hung up on before, out of 100s of calls.

It says Signed for by: CVELIZ and delivered on Jan 19, 2011 1:35 PM. I'm trying to view the signature on their website but it's not letting me. Yes I called 1800-go-fedex. I will call agin right now. But the weird thing is that it says it Departed FedEx location 2 times from the same place about 5 hours apart. And when my moms phone came by Fed-Ex too. On the Apple repair status it at the bottom it says Product replacement pending (17-Jan-2011) so could they have accidentally mixed something up? Because in the past with repairs they would always include a tracking number but I had to call them to give me one.

Thank you everyone who replied! This morning the office told me that FedEx had left the package in another cottage. But the weird thing is that the FedEx driver signed my name and just left it outside while it was kind of snowing outside. So that upsets me because how was I suppose to know where it was and in the cold weather.

FedEx Ground = Independent Contractors (in most states) and not FedEx employees, but are supposed to follow 100% of FedEx's rules.

FedEx Express = Employee's. The also follow the rules, but are set at a higher standard. If they left a package at a different location, and they signed your name, FedEx needs to be made aware ASAP as that is a very strong violation of their employment.

Regardless I am very happy to hear you got your iPhone 🙂
