Iphone and Uconnect

I recently purchased a new 2010 Dodge Ram truck with a Uconnect radio. The phone will pair with the system but I cannot make any calls. Quite upset right now that I waited in line for a new phone that will not connect with a new truck. Anyone have any insight on why these two systems will not work together? My previous phone worked without issue. It seems to be just the Iphone. Any help is greatly appreciated, it is much easier to get rid of the phone than the truck.

Thanks

I had major connection issues with my iPhone 4 and the Uconnect system in my Chrysler 300. Chrysler was no help, Apple was more courteous but just as useless. Took me a while but I finally found a fix by downgrading the MyGig software for the Uconnect system. Involved burning a new disc and rebooting the system but it now works flawlessly. Got to http://mofv.com/MyGIG/ and find the 1.295 Software update, click on the link, burn it to disc, and follow the instructions to install it in the vehicle. Continues to work for me although I must admit that I haven't upgraded my iPhone 4 to version 4.3.1 yet because I'm reluctant to get caught up in another glitch. However, the MyGig downgrade did the trick for me - I've even passed the link on to my mechanic at the Chrysler dealership which he's forwarded to other customers (unofficially of course) and reported a 100% success the last time we spoke a couple weeks ago. Hope this helps because those connection issues are a real pain in the *** and defeats the whole purpose of "hands-free".

I have a 2010 Dodge Ram as well and I have the same issue with my iPhone 4. I spoke with Chrysler Uconnect support today and they indicated to me that they are aware of the problem and are working diligently on creating a software update with Apple in order for our iPhone's to be compatible with the Uconnect system. They told me to keep checking with my dealer on a monthly basis to see if the update is available. They also said to try connecting the iPhone through the USB port as it may help. Hopefully they'll come out with an update soon or I'm buying a Blackberry.

SUCCESS - Just an update to everyone experiencing connection issues with the iPhone 4 and the Chrysler Uconnect handsfree system. I initially thought the problem was the phone but it turns out to be a mutual version compatibility issue between Apple and the MyGig (Uconnect software). The fix for me came in the form of altering the version of the MyGig software on my Uconnect system. As mentioned in a previous post, through a lot of web searches I came across a post that led me to a MyGig Forum site that addressed the handsfree issue by downgrading the software of the Uconnect (MyGig) system to an earlier version. I was able to download version 1.295 of the MyGig software by burning it to a CD, and re-installing the version directly into my vehicle's Uconnect system.

I was holding my breath the whole time, but since everything else I had tried didn't work I was willing to give it a go.

This involved loading the newly burned CD into my vehicle's Uconnect unit and installing the downgraded software version (complete instructions are available by going to: http://mofv.com/MyGIG/ and finding the RER 1.295 software update (halfway down the page) and clicking on the link and following ALL instructions.

Once completed, the handsfree unit worked as it should have from the start with my iPhone 4 (which was running iOS v 4.2 at the time). Not wanting to screw anything up I initially resisted upgrading to the latest iPhone 4 software, iOS v4.3.1, when it became available a couple of weeks ago, however, I finally took the plunge a few days ago and upgraded my iPhone 4 to this latest software version and am happy to report that my handsfree system continues to work flawlessly and my iPhone is completely up to date and I'm able to use all of its new bells and whistles.

Until MyGig and Apple come up with a completely compatible upgrade that maximizes the capabilities of both platforms I'll stick with the parameters outlined above, as this has proven to be a complete fix for me so far. Zero frustration. Would like to know if anyone else has tried this and what results they get. Sincerely hope this helps. By the way, Apple, Chrysler, and MyGig should pay us for these cycles.

I have a 2010 Chrysler Town and Country. I purchased my iphone 4 in August of 2011 and paired it easily with my UConnect system. However, when I downloaded the new operating system for the iphone my phone pairs successfully, but I cannot make calls. The UConnect system recognizes my phone and has downloaded my contact list and it prepares to connect the call, then cuts it off. The person at the receiving end receives the call, and I get incoming calls, but we cannot hear each other. So for me it is a recent problem.

I am the owner of a 2013 Dodge charger as XT which I purchased new in October 2012. Initially when I purchased the car my phone paired perfectly with the car. However in April 2013 while on vacation my car battery died. After I jumpstarted in the car I started having problems with my phone. I took it to the dealer several times and both times they replace the entire radio unit. When that did not solve the problem I put in a request to talk to somebody from you connect at Chrysler. I received several return calls from a gentleman named John. Basically what he told me was that the Chrysler you connect phone system is Windows-based and we are trying to use it with an Apple product. I explained which operating system I had on my phone and he said that Chrysler currently supports Apple iPhones operating on system 5.0 and 5.1 I have I believe 6.1.3. If you want your iPhone to work flawlessly with your Chrysler Dodge or a vehicle you need to go back to one of the earlier operating systems such as 5.0 or 5.1 that is all that they support at this time.
