unable to load Adobe flash player

I have a new MacBook Pro 13" model, I am able to download Adobe Flash Player, however I am unable to install the software.

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.6), 13"

I am a new Mac user....I was hoping to get more info than just another website to chase info...
Is anyone else having this difficulty???
Is there something basic that I am doing wrong?
I appreciate anyones support.

Maybe you are downloading the wrong version. But we don't know that as we don't know exactly what you are doing. No sense in guessing. The Adobe site has FAQ and support areas. Best check there as already suggested. http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/systemreqs/
