Apr 2, 2012 2:12 PM in response to Tcakyglue101by Eric Sartoris,I had the same problem... due to some hacker-type mystery charges on my iTunes credit card. I went here:
https://expresslane.apple.com/Symptoms.do
Once I sent them the trouble ticket, I received an email with a clickable link to re-enable my account. One day later, all is well.
I hope this helps!

Apr 6, 2012 9:08 PM in response to DrNoirby heavan,Where is the iTunes phone support? They could resolve issues more effectively if they stopped hiding behind their email support! I think I'm selling my Apple devices and moving on to better products. Besides, their security measures have been compromised! They owe every supporter of their devices an explanation immediately! 7 days for an answer that doesn't work! Ridiculous!

Apr 11, 2012 9:07 AM in response to DrNoirby JLP77,This situation just happened to me. I was initially made aware of the issue when I received an email from Apple regarding a purchase made from my AppleID from a previously unauthorized device in China. Once I could log in and inspect my account, it appeared that a free app from the China iTunes store (Happy Town, I think) was purchased, and over $30 of in-app purchases were made. Judging by the fact that it allows a user to charge upwards of several hundred dollars in-app, I figure I came out ahead with only losing (hopefully to be reimbursed) approximately $35.
I immediately changed my password information on every site and log-in I had used over the course of the last week, and contacted iTunes/Apple support through their Express Lane. I also disputed the charges via PayPal. Then I tightened up the restrictions and capabilities of my devices. However, the app that was downloaded and charged fraudulently to my account has the same age rating as Netflix, which my daughter uses to watch Dora et al. Not that it matters much, seeing as the device in question was in China, not the USA, but I'm just trying to cover my *** on this. My AppleID has been disabled, so I'm not currently able to purchase new apps or update my current apps. However, after reading through this thread, it looks like it would be in my best interest to leave my account in that standing until the charges are reversed.
FWIW, the tech I talked to via the Express Lane chat was very helpful, very prompt, and told me that all I needed to do to enable my AppleID was to contact them through the case number that I was assigned. So, once PayPal and iTunes get the charges sorted and reversed, I'll contact a tech via the Express Lane chat and ask that the account be enabled.
I hope this helps for anyone else in the same or similar situation.

Apr 21, 2012 12:09 PM in response to DrNoirby dbvirago,I haven't had any unathaurized use or any fraudelent charges. Just one day, I tried to buy a tune and got the error. Clicked on all the links and searched through help. Finally gave up. I'm buying all my songs at Amazon now. Same price without all the hassle

Apr 24, 2012 11:00 AM in response to DrNoirby Lalock,I had this happen to me this morning. I had no fraudulent charges and no unauthorized use. I dutifully sent an e-mail to iTunes and got the auto-response of "24 to 48 hours..." etc.
Then I got an e-mail from PayPal saying that they had cancelled my Billing Agreement. Aha! My Apple ID is connected to PayPal! I called the number they provided, which connected me to Apple, who told me to e-mail iTunes. *sigh*
So I looked at my PayPal account, and lo and behold! There were 3 disputes in their Resolution Center, none of which had been filed by me. Since there were unresolved disputes, my PayPal account had been put on hold without my knowledge. I called PayPal to see what was up, since all 3 "disputes" amounted to less than $20. I was told that as soon as they received a notice from the payees (iTunes and Big Fish Games) that these were valid charges, they would unlock my account. How long would that take? "About 10 days."
I explained that this was my money, and I'm saying it's fine, go ahead and pay, there is no dispute. After a couple more transfers, a kind lady finally said that she could just clear out the disputes since I said it was okay, and did it while I was on the phone.
About 2 more hours passed, and now my iTunes is letting me download at will.
Moral of the story: Check your money source for Apple ID and make sure it's still valid. Mine wasn't, but I didn't know it until I started digging.

1) I get email updates everytime this thread is responded to. I doubt your attention was only brought back to this post because your name was mentioned.
2) Asking someone on a public help forum to mind their own business is like asking a blind person if they saw which way someone went. It's illogical, ignorant, and doesn't make any sense.
3) Why can't you offer assistance without being condescending and self congratulatory? I pray you don't react to people face-to-face the way you consistantly have in this thread.

As does telling someone to quit posting in this forum.
and really?
You responded as you did rather than trying to help with the topic?

Apr 30, 2012 3:21 PM in response to Chris CAby JLP77,Tsk tsk. You should really read more of the thread before you ask a question like that. My original reply to the post was very relevant. And even my subsequent post was as on point, or as close to, as the majority of your replies have been.
