Extremely doubtful your CC # was compromised. When viewing the iTunes account info, only the last 4 digits are viewable, even by you.
The mere fact that fraudulent charges were made on my CC# itself demonstrates that my CC# was compromised. I have multiple accounts from various online merchants that use PayPal and none of those have been compromised, just Apple's.
Is there any way that I can get a formal response from Apple explaining what exactly happened with my Apple ID account and how exactly it got compromised?
Would love to know. But then again, I'm just a small piece of the pie to Apple. Hopefully Apple will do whats right and come clean on this issue.

So you had charges on your CC other than from iTunes?
If someone gains access to your iTunes account, the only thing that can get charged to your CC is iTunes purchases.

Very doubtful.

No! What I was saying was that I have other online merchants that are tied to my PayPal account and none of them have been compromised in any way. Just Apple.
Looks as though this is not the correct place to get my issue resolved. Looks as though I will have to go through phone route only.

Correct.
These user-to-user forums are not in any way the place to get this type of issue resolved.
Though since it is already being worked, don't know what a phone call will do. Most likely they will tell you to email (which you have already done).
Good luck!

Jun 19, 2011 2:47 PM in response to DrNoirby kitsVA,I have the same problem and today I sent a third email to apple support. Never heard back from them so far. It lets me loging but no new app downloads for me. My account has been hacked and a chinese user bought 5 $20 allowances from my account. Fortunately, Paypal gave me full refund instantly while Apple didn't even care to reply to any of my support emails. Funny part is I get emails from them asking if I am satisfied with the help they provided me.
I changed my password, credit card, etc but still no luck.

Jun 20, 2011 8:07 AM in response to DrNoirby FLJJ,I'm in the same boat. Got my $800+ ipad2 on Saturday and quickly found out that my Apple ID had been disabled because of some illicit PayPal/itunes activity, which occurred last October. Of course I immediately e-mailed Apple support with my problem.
Well, I just got a response from "Raghavendra" at 10am today telling me what I need to do. Then she ends the message by telling me her work schedule has her going off duty at 1pm CST TODAY....3 hours from when she sends this message....and not returning until Thursday!
So if she doesn't enable my account in the next two hours, I've got an $800 paperweight which I just may have to return, and say "Screw it." lol

Jun 25, 2011 4:04 PM in response to Vinmarby peteharry,I went through the steps in the support page Vinmar posted, regained access into my account page by password reset through proof of ID, was able to reactivate my app updates and purchases fairly quickly. I still have no indication as to why this happened.
My issue was a pop-up telling me my Apple ID was disabled listing security concerns as the issue, I was not trusting of Apples button choices of 'Cancel' or 'Reset'. Much more information on the nature of the error/issue should be available, such as what, why, and what are we actually 'resetting'?
Thanks Vinmar, and Chris, yes, you do post with an extremely condescending manner. Fitting for an Apple support forum really.

Jul 6, 2011 12:51 PM in response to peteharryby RobAllenIII,The problem with all of this is that, sure, following the steps gets you back into your account, but whatever locked you out in the first place is likely to occur again. I've reset my password 5+ times over the last month and assume there will be no end to it. I hate that my only recourse is a forum and a web form that will likely be read by some guy that is only intersted in solving the locked account problem and not the recurring account locked problem. Yeah, I'm sure some smart *** like Chris will ask me if I followed the directions or if I've virus scanned my computer and the answer is yes, yes, and yes. I want ip addresses of whom is causing the security breach, the times of day they are doing it, and the failed combinations they are using so I can tell whether this is a device with a cached password or if it is actually a malicious user. Answer me that.
p.s. I hate the apple.

Jul 21, 2011 6:42 PM in response to RobAllenIIIby mike5496,I absolutely agree. I have been through this multiple times. The account locks out of the blue. I've reset my password more times than I can count. Apple support - isn't.
p.s. I used to love apple. now I hate them too.

Aug 20, 2011 2:09 PM in response to DrNoirby ianb03,I call and they tell me to fill out a webform which can take 48 hours to process. Why couldn't they just reset it over the phone? This is really stupid...so much for world class support.

Sep 2, 2011 6:30 PM in response to DrNoirby RDT,Apple Support is non-existant. I email, I email again. I get no response. I really wish for a decent alternative to I tunes. I think apple makes nice products and I feel their support is the worst in the industry.
