Q: Your Apple ID has been disabled!?

After I had to change my cc# due to a security breach, I can't down load new apps or update the old ones. I am logged onto iTunes, and apple with the new info, but iPad says- "your apple I D. has been disabled." yikes!

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

MY Daughter has a ipad 2, as a teenager she is lost without all her apps etc,, she does alot of things on there for school. she herself has been trying customer support for 3 weeks now, with the same automated responce every time from Florence.. " we are working on it" . At first i thought that maybe she had done something to her laptop , but judging by the responce from apple support(laughable at best)  it seems to be a major error on thier part.... I hope that everyone posts on here and shows what a complete and utter waste of time support is for this product, . maybe sack the support staff and emply more computer boffins to get this glitch sorted , xmas is approaching and they need to be aware that we as customers are not happy, sorry for going on but im sure we would all appreciate them being honest and asking us to wait while the problem is fixed , rather than fob us off with automated e-mails. x

Another day, another breach of contract by Apple.  You can build a new iPhone but you dont have time to fix your security problems, NICE

An update from an earlier post I made in regards to locked and disabled accounts....

As of today, new procedures have been implemented allowing customers to reset passwords etc. Please call into Applecare and as long as you can properly verify that you are the account holder, you should be able to get passwords reset and accounts unlocked.

I am having the same exact problems and resorted to this site for answers, apple keeps sending me the same identical messages, saying that they are investigating the issue and blah! It's been almost a month and when I told them that I will just create a new account I was instructed that I would lose all the purchases I had done, this is more that $300+ in music and games! some nerve they have!! did you ever get your issue resolved? I'm at wits end now! in my family we all use the same apple id to share apps and music and now I have 5 apple devices that can't be updated! If anyone was able to fix this please point me in the right direction!

I actually got someone from iTunes support to call me. They keep telling me they have been working on making security better for customers when making purchases. She will not tell me the reason why everyone's account is disabled and she does not know a date it will all be fixed. What a great time to screw up everyone's account with the release of the iPhone 5 just around the corner. Expensive paper weight!

I am going on week 3 of my id being disabled (my wife's id is also disabled).  Prior to realizing our ids were disabled, we were alerted by our credit card companies that they had seen some suspicious activity. We had to freeze and destroy our cards.  I went into apple and replaced my credit card info and now here I wait.  Has anyone seen any info on how many accounts this impacting?   Each time I send an e-mail asking for a status. I get the same messages folks have previously reported.  I have had 2 different Apple support techs respond to me.  As other people have mentioned, I need one of the applications for my job and now I'm stuck.

Okay, after 5 weeks I finally got an email from iTunes support telling me to call support and ask to be directed to a Account Security team. They ran thru a number of issues to qualify who I was and then after them contacting someone else, while I was on the line, my Apple ID was enabled again.

I still hold that I am done with Apple. Everything I had and business applications were Hijacked by this company for 5 weeks. I got weak response and little to no support for high priced items and in theory only, seamless service.

The linking of so many of my communications devices seems so novel and efficient and yet one small detail brought it all to a stand still. Unacceptable in this day and age.

    Hi Chris,

As an airline Captain working overseas I have time sensitive data that must be updated to be legal to use during a flight. Those applications were disabled for 5 weeks since I was not able to update anything.

Many airlines are looking to go paperless on the flightdeck and with this situation with Apple disabling my ID I will lobby hard not for the industry to do so.

Here is the link for country specific phone numbers. Keep in mind I responded to an email they sent me that my issue was resolved and my apple ID could be enabled by calling this number and requesting Security Team.
