Q: Your Apple ID has been disabled!?

After I had to change my cc# due to a security breach, I can't down load new apps or update the old ones. I am logged onto iTunes, and apple with the new info, but iPad says- "your apple I D. has been disabled." yikes!

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

    Hi Community,

Why does apple's itunes dept give you a hard time in accessing your paid contents with a disabled/suspened  account - access to stuff you already purchased ???

Today I tired to download updates to contents I already have. It just happened that there

was a balance of 99 cents on my account.  I explained to Reps that I would like to remove

my card from the apple id.

Apple Rep and policy explained that nothing can be done when thier is a blanace on the card.

Ok so I get that, but still I have content that i paid for and should have access to it anytime 24 7

Consequently, I asked to speak to manager and they could not give me any support.

Now this is my issue. I could see if I am requesting to purcase an item. That is not the case.

I am trying to update software already own and/or obtain free software from itunes account.; however, itunes

seems to hold a purchaser hostage by not allowing anydownload until account is current.

whats up? why is this a policy? - I belive once you purchase something you should have

free access to the content and not be scrutiized by Itunes store.

Is anyone else having this issue ?  How do you do a work around ????

Pay the balance on your account by inputting a valid credit card then you can remove it.

I am reading your post about how to fix this problem and I am experiencing the exact same problem. the only difference is the amount I disputed through my back.

I had to dispute several unauthorized charges to itunes. My apple id was disabled after that. I followed jarnoldus's (older post) advice and it worked. Im duplicating his entry here with a few modifications. I hope this works for you.

    1. Go to https://getsupport.apple.com

    2. Choose your product (mine was ipad)

    3. Click the "iTunes, App Store or iBooks" icon

    4. Click "Apple ID account security"

    5. Type in "apple id has been disabled"

    6. Choose your country (mine was US)

    7. Choose the "talk to apple support now" option

    8. Provide the info they request (name, email, phone number)

    9. They will call you right away.

Explain your apple id has been disabled. The rep will connect you to an iTunes rep. He/she will look up your account. You will be required to answer your 3 security questions. You MUST get a minimum of 2 correct. If you succeed they will enable your id. Good luck!

    Hi fellow community..

I have a much worse case and I'm really sick and tired of all this BS..

I used apple since 1995 and love everything about them. I have pretty much everything Apple sell. from ipod shuffle, nano, touch, iPhone, iPad, MacbookPro, iMac, even Cinema Display!

but this case make me sick in my stomach and want to leave apple for good. here's why..

I have been using my appleID for years and spent thousands of $ during that period for 2,000+ apps, music, movies, in-app purchases, send gifts.. the whole thing. all of sudden, about a month ago it was disabled for reason CANNOT given. I was just told to read the terms and agreement.

frustrated cause i cannot update my app collection and there's no way to re-enable my ID, i decided to have a clean slate and start collecting again with a new ID.

not long after i start buying again, it was disabled again.. and it goes on and on until i made several accounts. and they are all ended up unusable. and all they'r (apple itunes support)  saying is that i had to read the terms and conditions. which i did many times.

then i realize, that in T&C, it does say that Apple pretty much can do whatever they want and there's nothing we can do about it and apple won't be hold responsible and cannot be sue. and since we have to check the "I agree" box. then we are just a slave to this empire which we contribute money also by buying from it.

many times I contact apple support and try to be very careful about anything i do, such as which mac I authorised and which device i login and make a purchase from and all that stuff.. just try to avoid getting disabled again. but all ended up still disabled again at one stage.

seems like i got black listed from apple, which is so crazy!

all i did was contribute revenue for iTunes, paid by my credit card, but all for nothing. that is just plain wrong!

and the saddest part is: I WOULD NOT KNOW WHAT CAUSE ALL THIS cause they wouldn't say anything other than "read terms & conditions".

having using apple's products and in love with them for years, made me very hard to let go. but i guess i just have to learn other new things out there and try to fall in love again.. without apple.

Exact thing happened to me near the end of August 2013.  Apple iTues support supervisors (not only one but two) told me to read T&C even though I read many times.  They told me that I could still use downloaded Apps but could not update or purchase.  They won't tell me which clauses I violated after dragged up amost a month.

Can you use $$ in the Indonesian iTunes store?

for 2,000+ apps, music, movies, in-app purchases, send gifts..

Music & movies have only been availabe in Indonesia since December 2012.

How were you purchasing these for years?

Indonesia iTunes uses IDR. I just said thousands of dollars to relate international readers.

2,000 plus are for Apps only! That I collected since they are available in iTunes store Indonesia (2010 i think)

music & music video only less than 100. movies I believe only bought 1. too expensive (IDR169,000 if I'm not mistaken)..

I am not making this up, if that's what you are thinking.

the solution I got so far, is that i need to sell all the devices related to my AppleID & credit card, and use the new fresh one!

    Hello, fellow "ID DISABLED" ians!

My id was disabled about 3-4 days ago and resetting id, password, email etc., does not work!  I called support and asked for Apple Security, they did not allow me to talk with Security personally but in turn contacted them and we had a three way!  (Not in the good sense either).  They asked if I could think of any reason apple would disable my ID.  And, yes, there was.  I made a purchase (thought i had enough) using a itunes card that did not have enough to cover the purchase amount and they charged the remaining 1.98 to my CC which (my bad) forgot I authorized. (darn alzheimers)  I did not recognize the charge at first and disputed it with my CC provider.  Thus ticking off itunes and then YOUR APPLE ID HAS BEEN DISABLED.  Apple representatives alone cannot help you with this (I was even told by one that my iPad was hacked!)  You have to request to speak with Apple Security.  And if your in the wrong, admit it like I did. OWN YOUR MISTAKES.  Well, within 10 min. after explaining and apologizing my ID IS ENABLED by a very friendly voice on the other end of the line.

    Here is the solution,

Go and phone apple support (or schedule a call) and tell them the problem.

In a matter of time your ID will be enabled for you to use again!

The cause can sometimes be after a refund following a purchase you unauthorized.

    We hope this helps!

    Good day!
