Writing To Often To SSD Will Shorten It's LIfe

Hi,

My MBP uses SSD. Is it true that SSD don't last long if it is writen too many times?

So does that mean "if each time i try to clean install my os, i 'zero pass earse' my hard disk is NOT a good idea?

There is some talk about non-sandforce ssd drives being faster on Macs

Did you see this test between an OWC Sandforce and an Apple 512 GB SSD?

Current (average) ratings in the PC world are:

#1 OCZ Vertex 3 (Sandforce)

#2 OWC 6G (Sandforce)

#3 Crucial (Micron) M4 (Marvel)


Mac users find similar results.


Hard to give any weight to a review that snubbs OWC drives, but the top 4 here are Sandforce:
