SSL connection error

Hi folks, my son can't connect to any SSL site from his account, but I have no problem. This happens with Chrome and Safari so seems to be some config issue. I can't figure out where/what setting I need to change to fix this. Any suggestions?

By the way it's something like "Error 107" that shows up.

Based on some research it seems related to Parental Controls and (maybe) wildcard certificates. So I had to make my son's account an administrator to get his SSL access working again.

This is not ideal -- anyone have a better solution?
