Draft Folder disappeared

My 'draft' folder has disappeared. I composed an email message and clicked on 'save in drafts' and nothing happens. I have been using it for a long time and don't know why it disappeared. I closed the email after I clicked and the email disappeared and did not go to a draft folder. Mail is 3.6
