Garageband not able to complete download from Mac App Store

Hi. I purchased Garageband '11 from the Mac App Store. After it finished downloading from the Store it opens a window that says "Thank you for purchasing and downloading Garageband '11 from the Mac App Store..." There's a button in the window to click "resume download". When I click it, a message pops up that says "GarageBand was not able to complete the download." I can only click OK and it doesn't go anywhere from there. I've tried re-downloading to no avail. Please help because I can't even open my Garageband '09 right now either. Thanks.

Same issue. Cannot download lesson 2 for rock guitar "suspended chords and arpeggios". I had the same error getting the other 4 when I tried to download all at once, but was successful if I only downloaded one at a time. Also, if I paused the download and restarted it, that seemed to reset it. However, I can't for the life of me get lesson 2. Down in the right hand corner of garageband in the learn to play section it ALWAYS says now " click to resume download " and when I do it says " garageband is attempting to complete a download " then literally 1 seconds later I get the " garageband is not able to complete the download ". It doesn't give me enough time to try the pause trick. How can I over? It ALWAYS has that "click to resume" in the corner now. Am I just screwed from getting lesson 2? I tried downloading a basic lesson just to see if it that would reset it, it downloaded successfully but still get the error with rock guitar lesson 2 and that "click to resume" is still there.

Ok guys...here's what I've found: I followed the instructions and it worked for me.

Here it goes:

1. I activated the Guest Account option in the in the Accounts area of the System Preferences.

2. I signed out then logged in as a guest. I ran GarageBand, and saw that my successful lesson downloads were listed, so GarageBand lessons are available for all users.

3. I started the failed downloads - there were no error reports and they all downloaded OK.

4. I logged out of the Guest Account - there's a message warning about all the guest users files being deleted, ignore it - and logged back into my usual account.

5. Running GarageBand and going to the lesson section showed that all the files were there, and they all ran fine.

6. Coffee...

Now, although the lesson is there and it played perfectly, GarageBand is still asking me for permission to continue the download. On the same thread where I found the solution, I also found this:

"I called the Garageband support line and they asked me to delete the library/caches folder." Did that without restarting and the result was the same. If anyone on this thread can try to solve this one after fixing the main problem? This is a minor one but still...don't want to see that download message again.

I had the same problem and tried the solution on the other thread http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2759154&tstart=0. This worked in regards to downloading the lesson but I still had the annoying reminder that came up that the same lesson still needed to be downloaded every time I opened GarageBand. I attempted to click and delete the lesson (little more difficult with just a trackpad) as fast as possible and after a handful of failed attempts I finally got it before the last pop up came up saying that the attempt was unsuccessful. I know have the lesson and the annoying message is gone. Hope this works for everyone else with the same problem.

This solution proposed by 'D Infinite Loop' is simple and works ie 'lesson store',choose 'download' for the incomplete download, then hit 'delete', you will get a dialogue asking if you wish to delete. Now you know how to abort the process you can go back into lesson store and start a new download. I have only encountered this problem when I tried 'download all'. I suggest you download one lesson at a time and no other unrelated downloads at the same time. I suggest everyone with this problem have a look at their internet usage, you may find that this incomplete download function is working continually and unsuccessfully but using gigs to do it. It is a problem that apple needs to address immediately.
