iTunes, party safe and visuals to switch to movies

Hi,

on my next party I would like to make some use out of iTunes.

What I'm looking for is to:
- make the iTunes client available to the crowd, let them choose songs eventually but without the risk to loose my library.
- have a spare beamer project visualizations, separat from the iTunes client interface (that one should be available on my iMac at the same time)
- make the visualizations switch to video display automatically if the track is a music video

Looking for suggestions and hints on how this can be done.
Thanks a lot.

iMac G5 17'', Mac OS X (10.3.9), iTunes 6.0.1 (3)

push.

I came up with the idea using a second account on my computer to stream from my real account's library, which would address the "delete" issue.

Now I'm looking for some kind of iTunes GUI screensaver or iTunes POI mode, exposing the iTunes interface to guests. Something that will prompt for a user password before quitting iTunes or switching to the desktop. Any idea?

Have videos show the video instead of visualization is a though one, I guess?
