Does anyone know how to change the default tray setting from rear to front? I know I can print and select a saved profile or change the settings manually, but using the print icon in an application uses the default settings...the rear tray.
I am using OS X 10.6.6, the latest Epson software and Print Utility3. I can't find any option to change the default tray setting.
Have you tried using the CUPS admin page -
http://127.0.0.1:631/ - to see if it will allow you to change the default tray? You could also edit the ppd for your printer - in /etc/cups/ppd - using a text editor.
Thanks, I'll look into cups. I'm just disappointed that Epson didn't include this as an option for the Mac side. It's an easy to change option in Windows.
Chicago - Did you find a solution to this without replacing the printer? I'm a new Mac user and am very pleased so far i'm just having issues with the printer wanting to use the rear tray all of the time. I've downloaded the latest driver but can't seem to make it work either. Any ideas?
That helped quite a bit and I was able to print a doc from the front tray. Thank you very much. But do I have to modify those settings every time I print and select the front tray? Do you know of a way to make the front tray default? Thanks again.
Thanks again Michael. After messing with the printer further today I tried to print to a CD and the tray jammed and made a not so good noise. The printer is now in the garage and a new HP with AirPrint resides in it's place.
