What is HistoryIndex.sk?

What does HistoryIndex.sk file do?

If i delete it, does Safari recreate it and do i lose some data because i deleted it?

my guess is it's the cache for Adobe Reader

🙂

Given the location, in ~/Library/Safari/ you might think it a Safari file, and you'd be right.

Cande - from what one can see, it's an index of all the words in every page visited, an index of history...
It will grow anew if trashed, and can get to many MB. A new one will index existing history entries, but naturally can't revisit each page to read all the words - so by deleting it, you lose the ability to search previous history by keyword, only title & url instead.
