Problems logging in.....

Ok so finally got round to downloading the OS update. Went into the App Store tried logging in with my details, which work fine with Itunes and it comes up with this error msg:

No GUID is available. Contact Support for assistance.

Any idea where im going wrong?

Thanks in advance

HI and welcome....

Restart your Mac. Try logging into the Mac App Store but don't login on iTunes first.

See if that makes a difference.

Please take a moment and click *My Settings* on the right side of this page and tell us which Mac OS X you have installed. That way you have a forum profile set up for now and in the future. Thanks!

I too am now experiencing this issue of "No GUID is available. Contact Support for assistance." when attempting to log-in to the App Store after having my hard drive replaced and OS X re-installed at an Apple Store.

This is becoming a real issue with reformatted and reinstalled OS X installations.

I have the solution: remove the file
/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/NetworkInterfaces.plist
then restart Mac, configure network and sharing again.
(Remember to note the Network configuration before you delete the file)

The removal of the /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/NetworkInterfaces.plist file, a reboot, and manually removing all network adapter from the Network section of System Preferences resolved the issue for me as well.

After removing all adapters, just add them back to the list and you'll be on the network and able to log in to the App store without problem.

Apparently the image of OS X that they load at the Apple Store has some network adapters included that aren't available on a Macbook Air and causes some kind of conflict that impacts App Store logins.
