Have you sent the other party an email invite? It works both ways. I just set it up 2 days ago. The other party sent me an email invite, accepted it; worked. If you can specify exactly what your doing and/or at what point it does not work, we may be able to narrow it down further.
Here is exactly what I have done. I am able to ee myself when I get facetime on my mac. I then call an iphone4 from my contact list and sometimes there is a ringing sound from the mac and other times there is no sound, in either event there is no connection with the phone. When i call the phone there is no evidence from the person that I call that i have tried to call. I am sure she is at a wi-fi area when I call. What's next??
The person you are calling has to have turned Facetime on in their Settings and I think they also have to have authorized whatever email address you are using to call them as an acceptable Facetime address.
From a computer, you need to use their email address because a computer can't make phone calls over AT&T's system. Someone with an iPhone or Touch will have to use your email address to contact you via FaceTime at your computer.
That makes sense, however when I call the iphone4 which is in fla and I am in mich there is no connection. What has to be on iphone4? as is easy to tell I am a novice , the iphone owner is a pre-novice so step by step would be great. Thanks
