Does the Mac App Store use my iTunes store credit?

I buy iTunes credit when it's on sale at local stores. I was wondering if I redeem the credit in iTunes does the Mac App Store use the credit thats in iTunes or does it draw from a separate pool of credit?

iMac 24" Early 09, MacBook Pro 13" Mid 09, Mac Pro 2010, Mac OS X (10.6.6)

Hi,

The iTunes store and the Mac App Store both credit / deduct from just one account. You can access your iTunes account information from the iTunes menu bar. Click Store / View My Account.
