pairing an Itouch with a Jawbone ICON by Bluetooth

I recently received a Jawbone ICON which is a great wireless device for connecting to a mobile phone. I was hoping to use the Jawbone to connect to the iTouch in order to use my Skype. I have tried every way I can think of, but the iTouch will not even see the Jawbone. Any body have a clue as to how I can pair these two devices? Many thanks.
