Bootcamp partition gone from finder after dragging to Spotlight

hi, i moved the bootcamp partition from finder to the private list in spotlight preferences, but the bootcamp partition disappeared from finder and its not in the private list in spotlight prefs either..! don't know macs too well so not sure how to get it back... ? hope the partition wasn't deleted

Mac OS X (10.6.3)

Hello,

First thing to check : Does your partition appear in disk utility ?
Second thing to check : can you boot into windows through reboot + maintaining "alt" until you see a windows volume on your screen next to the mac volume ?

I've got an associated question. Each time I use vmware to launch my boot camp partition (without actually rebooting), the disk is unmounted from mac OS. When I shut down the VM, the disk mounts back on mac OS. Sadly,it is not anymore in spotlight confidentiality list, thus indexing of this volume starts again. What a pain...

Hi, thanks for the reply, I talked to apple support and was able to fix. In Finder, go To Preferences -> Sidebar, and make sure hard disks (I believe) is checked, not a minus sign...
