CPU upgrade causes failure of AE export

I just installed an upgrade to 1.4ghz to speed up after effects. Now when I export (make movie) the program says I have 0k cache available, and later said internal cache error. Did I need to do something else. The prefs are set to 100% cache. Or do the upgrades generally not work?

G4 quicksilver 1.4g, Mac OS X (10.4), was 733mhz

Yes, upgrades generally work. We'll need more info to help solve your issue.

What program are you using?
Have you changed anything else? - other hardware or software?
Did you re-set the PMU after the upgrade?

Welcome to the forum.

Some CPU upgrades require a software patch to enable OS X to use the L2 and L3 Caches (whatever those are) of the upgrade.

Have you checked the manufacturer's website for such a download?

I figured it out. The cache was set too high, after reading up a little more in the manual.
