Question

My IPAD SCREEN IS BLACK

Like its all black. I tried to recharge thought the battery is dead but its still black.. can anybody tells me how to fix it?
I also press the power button for like holding it for few seconds but still nothing happen..

you have to press both the power and the home button

I received an iPAD as a gift last Friday and I know almost nothing about its use or operation. The screen went black while it was sitting on the desk. No one was touching it. About 5 minutes earlier, I had googled a word. That is the response to the inevitable "What were you doing when that happened?" question. When I turned back to the iPAD, the screen was black and appeared to have gone dead. Your solution worked, but I would like to know what caused the problem and if there is anything I can do to prevent it from happening again.
