Photobooth quality is bad!

Hi,
My Photobooth pictures have been turning out very grainy recently, and I don't know if it has to do with my camera or Photobooth, but the quality is horrible. They were fine for a while after I got my computer, but then just turned really bad. It didn't go away when I updated to Leopard either, so maybe it has to do with the camera? They are grainy and you can esp. notice it during effects like Twist or dent, and there are huge grainy or pixely chunks near the distorted parts, but you can still notice it in a normal picture too. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks 🙂

For any iSight problems, first try restarting the Mac. If the problems persist, try all relevant suggestions from:

  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2090

If your iSight problem still occurs in more than one app and more than one user account, the reset suggested there often restores proper function of inbuilt iSight.

However, if your built-in iSight problem is with only Photo Booth in every user account, the problem must be with your Photo Booth software. If this is the case, either reinstall the software (instructions are in your Leopard Upgrade DVD documentation) or post back and we will offer other suggestions you can try.

There are a couple of other things you can also consider:

(1) Perhaps the cover over your iSight's lens is smudged or dusty. If so, you can clean it with a clean camera lens-cleaning micro-fiber cloth. Use the directions that come with the cloth to clean it exactly like you would clean any other camera lens.

(2) You should also test again with as much light as possible. As explained here,

  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3097

use a good (means "BRIGHT") light source in a well-lit room to get best pictures with your iSight. The best pictures your iSight can deliver are those made in full sunlight.

For grainy photos & videos, more than likely will do the trick.
