Anyone who knows CPR for a Macbook?

So I have this old Macbook (the black one, circa 2007)

I haven't been using it for a year, but I wanted to start it up, but it couldn't. I have had it on power for six-seven hours and when I press the power button the screen gives a short flash, the coolers start and then nothing.

Can somebody please help?

Hey MrMoonlight!

Where was the MacBook stored while it wasn't in use?

Try removing the battery before powering it up as well. The battery is very likely dead and may be interfering with the computer trying to boot.

Hey Lyssa

Thanks for replying. The Macbook was stored in a quite cold storageroom (55-60 degrees F). I have now tried to remove the battery and booted the computer. Same result: Short screen flash and the coolers start and - nothing. 😟

Should I leave it "on" and see what happens or?

Hey! Update: It worked. Removed the battery and left it on. It took about half an hour, but it got there. Now I only need to find out get it back to factory settings. Not easy, when I can't find the CD that came with it.
