Q: Stumped

Ok, banging my head on this one.
Running 10.6.6 Server and just installed Final Cut Server 1.1.1 and unable to get to the Java Web Start.
I have followed the instructions here http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1610 only to get "Forbidden", You don't have permission to access /FinalCutServer on this server. (or any other web page on the sever). As soon as I remove the Rewrite Code, it is all back to normal. But still get the Object Not Found! error.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

You might get more info from the apache error log, so check that.

But I would seriously consider upgrading to Final Cut Server 1.5.

FCSvr 1.x is nearly 3 years old, way before 10.6.

FCSvr 1.5 is still 1.5 years old, but it has been updated to support 10.6.

Be sure OSX Server is running web services, and the users have proper permissions.

Web services is up and running and configured properly.
I actually have the new version ordered and just waiting for it to arrive, was just trying to get the older one working before hand.
I guess that I am just going to wait till 1.5 arrives.

You did install FCSvr on the server Mac as Admin user, right?

Yes, installed as admin, received my upgrade today, so will be installing tomorrow, hopefully it goes better this time

Well, I don't think the upgrade will magically fix the permissions problem. But, you never know! Did you run Repair Permissions on the server's OS drive? Just a wild guess.

Was just going by what others have mentioned, with 1.1 and Server 10.6, there could be issues there. I have run the repair permissions, have flattened and rebuilt the server. Starting to get a little frustrating.
In the process of installing 1.5 now, wish me luck LOL

Did you upgrade from 10.5 to 10.6?

This applies to 1.5, but maybe it would affect 1.1 as well:

And just as a reminder to other Final Cut Server 1.1 users reading this thread, Snow Leopard 10.6 does not support 1.1, so Don't Do That.

Was a fresh install of 10.6 Server.
Did all the updates (1.5.2) and it is now allowing me to access the Java Webstart page. Looks like we are in business.
