Want phone to return to home screen after calling from favorites

When I make a call from favorites, my 3GS iPhone returns to the favorites screen.
How can I get it to return to the home screen when hanging up after an out-going call from favorites?
This has lead to MANY accidently dialed calls when I attempt to lay it down after a call, worse when driving(I use a headset) or riding in a car.

If there is no solution for this, then it should be a simple software upgrade to the phone settings.
I'm sure it is an easy to use with one hand if one has petite hands, ideal weather (no cold or wet, is are sitting at a desk or in a restaurant(I assume those at Apple are discouraged from further Bar Room testing).
I am not the only person with this complaint and diminishing it does not help with our concerns.

Anyway, got to get out there with my fumble-fingered friends in the snow (Hmm never had this problem before with 15 years of cell and 20 years of 2-way radio use in all weathers?).

Seriously, it seems the iPhone is not the best phone for you and your situation. You have plenty of other options.

Have a good day.

You too.

The need to hit the home key, is what I want to keep from needing to do.

Thumbing the "End" then trying to thumbing the home key with one hand has lead to a dropped or accidental call while driving. Worst case is when I have a phone on the floor, under the pedals, which has dialed somebody off the favorites menu.

I have looked under my call settings and cannot find an option for this, and I have numerous relation with iPhones who hope ther is a solution for this.

Can't be done without hitting the Home button.

The phone is specifically designed to be used with one hand. Maybe a little practice would help.

There is no setting for this.

As I said, I use a headset and drive a 80,000 miles a year without an accident or ticket. Locating the key is not the problem, but pushing it while holding the phone in one hand in less than ideal conditions this winter can be more difficult than a simple software solution.

Anyone with intellect would try to help, rather than self-righteously soothing their low self-esteem.

It may be an easy/simple software upgrade, buy Apple has much bigger fish to fry than this.

I don't have petite hands by a long shot, I'm left handed and I use my iPhone with my right hand only on a regular basis. I don't have any problem locating the large home button nor the sleep/wake button at the top. There should be ideal weather in your car while driving.

I hate to think that Apple has bigger "fish to fry" than their customers concerns(two families in this case).
Apple has much stronger competition than in the past and numerous ones are being used by the Public Safety sectors.

When contacted by Public Safety during the winter, one does not always have the advantage of a warmed up vehicle, completely dry hands, and time. In an emergency most civilians do not want to hear about what slowed your response, so we try to mitigate them in advance. My favorites do not just have family and friends in it.

Have a good day.
