Problems trying to run ASD 2.5.8

I just replaced the logic board on my power mac g5 (dual 2Ghz) and now the fans are running like crazy.

I got a hold of ASD 2.5.8, so I can run a thermal calibration, but when I boot to the cd the screen is bunched up, like squeezed together and nothing is really legible.

I tried the 2.5.7 CD and I get the same result.

Has anyone else had this issue?

Is there something I'm doing wrong?

I'm not sure which ASD yours needs, but maybe ASD 2.6.3?

OK, if you have a PCI-X and not PCI-e G5, you have the right version of ASD (2.5.8) to work with. You might try resetting the PRAM first, then resetting NVRAM and then booting into the ASD disc.

Just a thought.

I didn't even know there was a 2.6.3

Finding 2.5.8 was hard enough.

I checked the specs again.

Looks like I actually have DP 1.8 and PCI-X.

I'll look into resetting PRAM and NVRAM.

If it's running...

At the Apple Icon at top left>About this Mac.

Then click on More Info>Hardware and report this upto *but not including the Serial#*...

I reset the PRAM\NVRAM and still have the same issue.

I don't know if it's my monitor not picking up the signal properly but it's deff weird.

The ASD screen is compressed to the left like 1/4 of my screen.

I read the ASD user guide pdf and have guestimated where the "thermal calibration" was on the menu and am running it now.

It's been running for a bit now.

How long should I expect?
