Error in updating iTunes to 10.1.2

Using the apple updater it's fine until it gets to install, which it will do for about a minute, then an error message will come up saying "Error occurred while installing the update" if problem persists install manually (which doesn't work)
This has happened practically every time I've tried to update iTunes, through a number of updates on different laptops and computers, I normally wait a few days then it'll work, but they seriously need to sort this out, any suggestions will be much appreciated, Alex

When I either try to update iTunes or uninstall, I get a dialog box that says:

"The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable."

Apparently, it is looking for iTunes.msi.

It's rather incredible that there are no resources available to fix this.

Let's go Apple. Let's not me like Microsoft. Cripes. Apple is worse. At least with Microsoft there are thousands of forums with every answer right away. Getting any help from Apple is like trying to get an act of Congress.

and me, own a Dell Studio and run two itouch's as well as Sonos. Need to update itouch's but can't without updating itunes and itunes update keeps failing. it can't locate "itunes.msi". Can't uninstall either for the exact same reason. went into the biggest apple store in the world at lunch and got told they don't deal with pcs. Is there a downloadable program that will completely erase itunes from my machine so I can reinstall the latest version to resolve the problem? v frustrating.

I have just downloaded the latest update and am told that there are several files missing. And to reinstall Itunes. How do I do that without going through the nonsense of opening a new account?

Besides a substantial library, I also run my Iphone on it. It is somewhat urgent. Obviously, I have a request into Itunes but ...

Thank you

Well I'll be darned! That worked swimmingly. TYVM TYVM TYVM TYVM TYVM TYVM TYVM !!!

The cited thread says not to share the link for the utility so I will leave it to you guys to find it out. It didn't take me long.

Anyhoo...I used the utility to remove not just Bonjour, as the thread specified, but iTunes too. I didn't even bother restarting.
