If you are running v10.6.5, update your system software. Click the Apple () menu (top left in your screen) Software Update ... Restart your Mac after the updates are installed. Try Safari... if it crashes again, open a Finder window. Select your Home folder in the Sidebar on the left. Then open the Library folder then the Safari folder then the Extensions folder. If you have the Incognito or YouTube5 extensions there, move those to the Desktop. Relaunch Safari to see if that's causing the crashes.
If you don't have those Extensions installed, follow the instructions here first for troubleshooting third party Safari plugins such as Flash. http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3230?viewlocale=en_US
If you can't resolve the issue, if Safari has just crashed, press the Report button on the CrashReporter dialog box to view the crash information.
Now copy/paste the entire contents of the Crash Reporter window into your reply here. If the crash report dialog does not appear or the crash is hard to reproduce, crash logs can be retrieved from the ~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter> folder.
Carolyn 🙂
