Q: Export contacts from iphone to Outlook

I am having trouble figuring out how to take my contacts from my iphone and exporting them to Outlook 2010.

We just setup office computers, and I have never synced my contacts to Outlook before.

Thanks!

1.Connect your iPhone to the computer using the supplied USB cable and launch the iTunes application, if it does not launch automatically. iTunes displays your iPhone on the left panel under "Devices."
2.Click your iPhone on the iTunes panel and click the "Info" tab. Click "Sync contacts with" and select "Outlook."
3.Select "All Contacts" if you want to sync all the contacts from your iPhone to Outlook. If you want to select specific contacts, click "Selected groups" and place a check on the contacts you want to sync to Outlook.
4.Click "Apply" to sync your iPhone contacts to Outlook. Click the "Eject" button on the right panel and disconnect your phone from the computer. Close iTunes.
5.Launch Outlook and click the "Contacts" tab. You should see the imported iPhone contacts.

Thank you! But I have a problem that I cannot transfer iPhone contacts to outlook.....my account is linked and I updated my outlook....after updating, I cannot sync the contacts. Can you solve the problem?

You won't have such worries if you use the iPhone file manager to back up your iPhone contacts to Outlook.

OOutlook is not listed when I connect. Sync Contacts on iTunes says:  your contacts are being synced over the air from icloud. Over the air sync settings can be changed on your iPhone. How to do that?

    any other ideas?

Try iPhone PC Suite. It not only lets you transfer contacts from iPhone to PC, but also export contacts to Windows Address Book and Outlook. In addition, it also enables you to transfer contacts from computer to iPhone, remove duplicate contacts, and manage contacts on iPhone.

    Hello nola_questions,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

For more information on this, take a look at:

iOS: How to transfer or sync content to your computer

    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1296

    Contacts

To sync contacts with your computer, choose "Sync Contacts with" within iTunes for Windows, or "Sync Address Book Contacts" on your Mac.

You can sync your contacts with:

    • Microsoft Outlook 2003, Microsoft Outlook 2007, Microsoft Outlook 2010 (Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7)
    • Windows Address Book (Windows XP)
    • Windows Contacts (Windows Vista / Windows 7)
    • Address Book (Mac OS X)
    • Microsoft Entourage 2004, Microsoft Entourage 2008, or Microsoft Outlook 2011 for Mac
Note: If using Microsoft Entourage, use Microsoft Entourage 2008 12.1.2 or later if syncing with Mac OS X v10.6 or later. If you would like to sync data on your Mac with Entourage, enable syncing between Entourage and Address Book.

    Notes:

    • When syncing contacts, you can choose to sync all of your contacts or only selected groups. The option to sync selected items may not show up until after the first sync.
    • You can select a group of contacts to which all new contacts created on your iOS device will be added.
    • Additional options for syncing include syncing your contacts with Yahoo or Gmail/Google Mail. You will need to configure it with the user name and password for your Yahoo or Google account.

    Best of luck,

    Mario

The Apple box the top indicated 1, 2 and then the 3rd steps which almost finished but instead the following dialogue box appeared saying," iTunes cannot sync information to the iPhone" iPhone ---------" because a session cannot be started..

I do not understand it is syncing TO iPhone. I thought was taking iPhone contacts to transfer over to Outlook on my computer. Kindly explain how I screwed up know I followed your directions?
