What Itunes version for PowerPC G4?

I have an older PowerPC G4 (2004) with Itunes 8.2.1 installed.
I can't access the Itunes store to buy/rent movies.
Found out that I can 'sneak' in the back door by searching for movie titles, but it won't let me rent with 8.2.1 for some reason. Says I must have the latest Itunes.
I can't install the latest Itunes, because of my OS (a 10.4 something).
Is there a version in between 8.2.1 and the latest that works?

9.2.1 as Neil recommends requires 10.4.11 or higher.

I have a eMac with this same problem. As it turns out, you have to use iTunes 10 for the iTunes Store to work. That means that if you want the iTunes Store to work, you will have to upgrade too Mac OS X 10.5.8, or 'Leopard'.

Some features do require iTunes 10, but several people in the last two weeks have told me that iTunes 9.2.1 allowed them to use the iTunes Store for purchasing music, movies and videos without problem. So upgrading to 10.5.8, while probably a good idea, does not seem to be absolutely necessary for most functions of the iTunes Store.
