cannot 'get more episodes'

I am suddenly unable to download podcasts over the internet to my I Touch. The internet connection is fine -- I am able to download my mail and check websites. But when I click on the get more episodes for one of my existing podcasts it takes me back to the main screen of icons. I can download podcasts from my computer connection. Everything is working fine except when I try to download podcasts over the internet. Any ideas on how to solve?

I have an older ipod touch and it says I have the current os which is 2.2.1
