unable to detect graphics hardware

windows xp home bootcamp mbp mid 2009 sp2 2.66 ghz 4 gb ram

nvidia 9600m gt

i was installing Active Iso burner, apon suggestion this prog would extract uif file

during installation it asked to install sptd.dll driver, i agreed for it to install and restart, before it restarted, the desktop icons disappeared, right clicked to see that the show desktop icons selction was checked but the icons were not visible,

upon restart the nvidia ctrl pnl would not open, right clicked desktop > properties > settings > advanced > adapter, and all nvidia graphics card details are gone,

go to system information > hardware resources > conflicts/sharing:

so.. somehow after some graphics failure, it changed from nvidia to VgaSave

go to
Device Manager:

Usb video device : This device cannot start. (Code 10)

PCI standard PCI-to-PCI bridge is flagged :

This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. (Code 12)

If you want to use this device, you will need to disable one of the other devices on this system.

You need to restart your computer before the changes you made to this device will take affect.

I go to the programfiles folder where Active Iso Burner is installed, run the installer again there was already a version of sptd installed, and asked if i wanted that driver to be uninstalled hit yes, then ran the uninstaller and removed Active Iso Burner.

go to services > NVIDIA Display Driver Service - set to automatic, but it has not been started, click to start service, get this error:

The NVIDIA Display Diver service on Local Computer started and then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they have no work to do, for example, the performance Logs and Alerts service.

go to nvidia website download latest driver for 9600M GT graphics driver for macbook pro:

266.58 notebook_winxp_32bit_internationalwhql

get this error on first step of system check:

Install cannot continue

This graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware

i tried install past driver versions, i get the same error message

how do i get my mbp to detect my graphics card?

thank you,
-r

Tried uninstalling the graphic device driver and program? let Windows install its own generic?

I have seen this happen a lot, maybe more often with XP, but Apple graphic device driver and hardware support doesn't allow installing ATI or Nvidia over top, have to uninstall first.

Does XP offer ability to rollback a driver?
Restore to earlier system restore points?

Tried using Driver Sweeper yet?
