Feb 3, 2011 6:49 PM in response to BSteelyby Nickolaidis,Sorry! I have a Sony trinitron and although I am connecting my macbook via S-Video and it seems that the external display is recognized it is black (I have adjusted the external display's resolution to all available resolution but nothing...) I have also read that if I run overscan it might work but that option doesn't appear to my displays pane... -
Feb 3, 2011 8:12 PM in response to Nickolaidisby BSteely,Do you have the option to select 50 Hz refresh PAL timing on the MacBook within Displays Preferences? If the current setting is for 60 Hz, it may not work. -
Feb 5, 2011 7:37 AM in response to Nickolaidisby BSteely,One more idea...you seemed to indicate you have an official Apple adapter, but in case it is made by another company, you should know that in the past other users have reported trouble using non-Apple adapters for this application.
Also, even in the case of the Apple adapter, there are at least two part numbers. One is for NTSC applications which is the video standard used in the USA and certain other countries and another is for PAL standard countries. So make sure you have the correct one for your country. Presumably if you bought it in your country it's the right one.
