Can't get rid of carbonite icon from menubar

Got rid of carbonite and it no longer appears in my system preferences. However it is still in my menubar at the top right and it has an x through it. How do I get rid of that? Any help appreciated.

When I couldn't find a Carbonite folder in Applications (I had previously trashed it) I Googled how to get rid

of Carbonite icon and found a way to find the hidden Carbonite folder.

I had to: 1/ Control click on Finder on the dock and select ‘Go to Folder’.

2/ Typed /Library/Application Support/ into the window that appears.

3/ There was the Carbonite folder with 4 documents in it.

I moved the whole folder into AppZapper free demo application, and BOOM icon's gone. I had to restart to see the icon was actually gone. AppZapper is pretty cool too.

I don't use carbonite, so I'm not sure what it comes with, but did you use the uninstaller they should have provided?

If not, check /Library/LaunchDaemons or /Library/LaunchAgents. There are also those folders in your user Library. Check for something with carbonite in the name and remove it. If it is in the main library, restart. If it is in your home library, log out and back in.
