Dropped/Damaged iPod

I dropped my 6GB iPod Classic. Won't work. Won't mount in iTunes. Can it be fixed?

Classic 6GB, Mac OS X (10.6.6)

It probably just needs a new hard drive, which are relatively inexpensive compared to the iPod.

Saw a good tutorial on how to fix a broken ipod (possibly) at How To Fix Ipod Nano Looks like the guy talks about a way to check if hard drive is damaged then if so do a possible fix. I personally have not tried it but Good luck!
