Working with Google Earth ... clearing cache?

I'm doing some work that involves flying around the surfaces of Mars and Earth in Google Earth (using a controller). I'm using a relatively new iMac here in an unfamiliar office - I don't know it, don't work much with iMacs... (more familiar with towers and laptops).

Tonight the Earth surface is filling up with patches of Mars surface. And Mars is filing up with 'black' patches. They come and go.

I'm wondering if it has something to do with the cache on the iMac? And how one might empty any cache files?

I don't remember this happening on my tower (which just took a nose dive into the Apple shop), or my laptop ... which for some very weird reason tonight won't open Google Earth properly. Very mysterious. Maybe it's aliens.

So easy.

Hi Ben Low - Thanks for the star, glad to hear this solved your problem. Good computing.

2 related questions:

I notice that with the iMac, a new one with a fairly fast processor, the Google surface is stuttering slightly as I move about using a 3DConnexion controller. The same setup on my MacBook Pro (an older one) runs smooth as glass with no stuttering.

I also notice I can set anti-aliasing on the laptop and it works fine. But on the iMac it doesn't seem to have an effect. I recognize this probably has more to do with the graphics card. But perhaps you would have a take on what might be happening?

I would recommend you post new under a different subject line in the *iMac Forum* for a more immediate and informed response:

Good luck !

Thank you Leroy,

So easy. I think I clicked the empty cache once or twice before ... but in my hurry failed to notice 'apply', so didn't get any results.

I am wanting to film the moves off the monitor once they are created ... and the iMac monitor is quite glorious comparatively speaking, otherwise I would just use the laptop.

All ears...
