Itunes wont detect my iPhone 3GS 16GB

Hi,
Were to start, a few months ago i couldn't get iTunes to load it turned out that I needed to disable the bonjour service, load iTunes then restart the bonjour service.
This has been a pain but a workable solution.
however I have just updated iTunes to the latest version and now it wont find my iPhone.
My iPhone shows up in windows devices and allows to to access any photos on it so I know the connection itself is good it just wont load up in iTunes.
Really hope someone can help

Try disabling your security software. Also, verify that AppleMobileDeviceService.exe is running in the Task Manager. If it isn't go to the Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Services. Find the service, right click on it and choose Start.

Why should I have to go and do anything? Everything was working fine until Apple told me to download this piece of **** update.

Because it's Windows. If you would rather do nothing and not sync your iPhone anymore that is your choice.

Thanks for the fast response, I now have to turn off my antivirus and my bonjour service, which is a bit awkward but it works and I can sync my iPhone.

I've turned off my Norton PC Security and checked to see if my itunes could detect my iphone and no. But my PC does read my Iphone but I can just see me photos and charge it.

Also if using a intel chipset make sure your BIOS and chipset drivers up to date from your computer manufacturer. http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3221

The iPhone reports as 2 separate devices, a digital camera and an iPhone. So it sounds like the camera is being recognized, but the iPhone is not. Did you check AppleMobileDeviceService, as described above? Have you tried rebooting your computer? Have you checked out the Apple support tip referenced in another message?

Yes I have restarted my computer I have the latest itunes, no message pops up when i connect my ipohone just to view photos besides that itunes doesnt recongnize my iphone.please help
